Have you been diagnosed by GAUA – otherwise known as Google Algorithm Update Anxiety? We have self diagnosed ourselves after reading the symptoms listed in Hubspot’s, “The Simple Cure for Google Algorithm Update Anxiety” blog post. Think you have been taken over by this medical condition?

Symptoms include: headache, upset stomach, nausea, back pain, muscle pain, nasal stuffiness, shortness of breath, flushing, pain in arms and legs, dizziness, reduced organic search traffic, dip in sales and mood swings. Consult with your SEO Webmaster for proper diagnosis and relief.

How to avoid the plague?

When SEOwhat.com was approached by Katherine Kotaw from KOTAW Marketing and asked the question, ““Go Hollywood! What would you like your customers to know about you in 15 words or less? In other words, write your company’s tagline.” Katherine, a successful content marketer, asked companies nationally how they would portray their business as if it were a Hollywood movie. In other words, what would their company’s movie title or tagline be.

Although the concept of posting short, concise social media updates is fairly new, Hollywood has been casting the idea for years. The concept of getting your ad message across in 10 seconds or less has been around since the early 1900′s but it’s only in the past 10 years that we have taken this advice and applied it to our businesses through social media marketing.

With shorter attention spans, less time and on the go mobile customers, interest of business marketing gets lost quick if there is a lack of unique content along with a concise tagline. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

So what was SEOwhat.com’s Hollywood tag line?

Naturally, Armed for Algorithms.

After self diagnosing ourselves with GAUA – Google Algorithm Update Anxiety – we knew that we needed protection, and fast. What did we do?

Armed for Algorithms.

We got more social, posted across numerous blogs, created rich content and never lost track of Google’s latest requirements. We were like little elves in the Keebler tree working all throughout the night writing, posting, writing, posting and sharing, oh did we share. What happened? We have been GAUA FREE ever since.

Some say that SEO is dead. Is it?

No. It isn’t and it won’t die. It may get harder, there may be more hoops to jump through but it won’t die.

How do we know? Because we are still gaining search results.

Where are you ranked today?
